Dr. John Batich, Edison, N.J., a doctor of obstetrics and gynecology, has joined the staff of Ocean Health Initiatives (OHI), a federally qualified health center (FQHC) with locations at 101 Second Street, Lakewood and 301 Lakehurst Road, Toms River.
Before working at OHI, Dr. Batich had a hospital-owned solo practice for five years in West Virginia. He also served as the chief of obstetrics at Reynolds Memorial Hospital in Glen Dale, West Virginia, and as a clinical assistant professor of OB/Gyn, at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine.
Dr. Batich received his M.D. from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ), Newark, N.J. He completed residencies in obstetrics and gynecology at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center; Jamaica Hospital, New York; and Albany Medical Center Hospital where he was chief resident and then an instructor from 1992-1996; and Stamford Hospital, Connecticut. Dr. Batich received his B.S. in biology from Rutgers University, N.J., in 1977.
Dr. Batich is a member of the American Academy of obstetrics and gynecology, and holds a license to practice medicine and surgery in New Jersey. He is a diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners.
