The Mobile Medical Unit, a 40-foot handicapped accessible Winnebago, contains two patient exam rooms equipped to handle primary medical services and provide some dental screenings. It is electronically equipped with computers, printers, a fax machine, and a scanner. It also contains refrigerated drawers for medications and vaccines. To make an appointment or to confirm dates, times, and locations of the medical unit, contact the Call Center of OHI at 732-363-6655. The OHI mobile medical unit is an effort to bring some medical services to people who might not have transportation. OHI Mobile Medical Unit to Hold Flu ClinicsDr. Theresa Berger, CEO of OHI (Ocean Health Initiatives, Inc.) has announced that OHI’s mobile medical unit (MMU) is offering two flu clinics. No appointments are necessary. With Medicaid or Medicare insurance, flu shots are free. Without insurance, the cost is $20.00. The first flu clinic is Wednesday, October 5 at Georgian Court University, 900 Lakewood Avenue, Lakewood, in front of the Casino Building, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. This clinic is open to Georgian Court University students and faculty members.  |
